All Anime Forums interview #2 [Lunar]
- Forum Link: Click here to visit All Anime Forums
- I will answer all questions: yes
- Name of Interviewer to interview (optional): Lunar, but if she is unavailable then anyone will do.
- Extra Comments: I know it's been 2 weeks since my last interview, but it's fun, and not much has really changed on the site but please try to ask new questions. Please ask some questions about the Ubbi Dubbi help thread, among some other interesting things you may find on the forum if you look hard enough. *hint hint* Also the more questions the better, 20 was a great number last time. But it's up to you to pick how many questions you ask. I will answer them all with about a paragraph or so like last time as a fair warning.

Re: All Anime Forums interview #2 [Lunar]
I really would like it if Lunar did this, as she already has done one for the forum already. She did an awesome job, and look forward to having another interview from her. I'm sorry whatif, it's nothing personal. Also try not to have any repeat questions from last time please.

Re: All Anime Forums interview #2 [Lunar]
Alrighty, your interview questions are all ready! I think I managed not to do any repeat questions too. ^^ If you have any questions about my questions, if you need clarification on anything, let me know! Here we go:
- What made you change the layout of your board?
- Why did you pick pinks and purples? Do you think people will think it’s too girly looking?
- Do you plan on adding a new banner soon? Any ideas of what it may look like?
- Where did you find the Faye or did you make them? They’re really cute!
- I noticed that your other topic/subject icons around the board are more standard, do you plan on getting more anime style ones in the future?
- I was checking out your “Ubbi Dubbi Help Thread” and it looks like it’s a new language coming about. Can you elaborate on what exactly it is and who invented/came up with it?
- If you aren’t the inventor of “Ubbi Dubbi” how did you find out about it?
- I saw a thread for “Signing Up for the AIO” what is AIO? I saw that there are a couple of links with AIO attached to it, but when I click them they just take me back to the index page.
- How do you decide which anime is Anime of the Month? Is there a poll for all users to pick one or do you randomly pick one each month?
- I noticed you put in a new music player at the bottom of your site, what gave you the idea to do that?
- Is all the music on the site’s player related to anime in some way?
- I saw that you (relatively) recently shortened how many rules you had from 26 to 12, what are some of the rules you got rid of?
- There was an announcement in December that you were changing the forum name from “All Anime” to “Operation Animation” are you still planning on doing that?
- ”#animemasterz” is a new forum, right? I don’t remember seeing it last time we had an interview. What gave you the idea for that forum and what can people find in that section?
- Your portal is kind of bland right now; do you plan on adding more to it in the future?
- Have you had to punish anyone for breaking the rules yet? And if so, what was it that they did (if you care to share)?
- What was the first site that you affiliated with? And what do you look for in affiliates?
- I noticed that there was no thread specifying what people should do if they want to affiliate with All Anime, how do you find other forums to affiliate?
- What gave you the idea to add puzzles to your forum and do you plan on adding more puzzles? I’m trying to keep myself from stopping this interview to do the ones you have, lol.
- Do you plan on holding any contests soon, and if so, what sort of prizes will you be giving out?

Re: All Anime Forums interview #2 [Lunar]
- What made you change the layout of your board?
I decided to add a few new forums, like a place to talk about books
that aren't manga, and I took up learning some CSS coding to make my
own theme for the forum. The purple and pinks you see is my
design.
2.Why did you pick pinks and purples? Do you think people will
think it’s too girly looking?
When I think of the word "anime" the color
red comes to mind. I see the color red when I think or hear of that
word. Actually, to me, each letter has it's own color like "a" is red,
"b" is in brown, "c" is in yellow and so forth. But that's a different
story. I wanted some nice bright colors on the forum. To me, the
pinks and purples are a bit much, but I thought the purples would make
a nice background color. I am still working on getting some of the
buttons made to replace the existing one.
3. Do you plan on adding a new banner soon? Any ideas of what it may look like?
I am working on making a different banner for each theme I have
availibe on the forum, some of the themes that have them are Matrix,
pulse, red pulse.
4. Where did you find the Faye or did you make them? They’re really cute!
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by Faye, but if you are talking
about the folder icons you see, I found those off a google search and
there was a .rar file with several of them, I just picked 2 of them I
liked to be used.
5. I noticed that your other topic/subject icons around the board are more
standard, do you plan on getting more anime style ones in the future?
I certainly do. There are a ton of buttons that I need to make and
that is on my to do list. I plan of revamping my ranking system as
well in the near future.
6. I
was checking out your “Ubbi Dubbi Help Thread” and it looks like it’s a
new language coming about. Can you elaborate on what exactly it is and
who invented/came up with it?
7. If you aren’t the inventor of “Ubbi Dubbi” how did you find out about it?
YES! I love this! Ubbi Dubbi is actually a language invented from
this one show. If you take a look at my avatar, you will see the cast
of this show, it's called ZOOM. ZOOM is a television show that was
created in the 70s, and ran for a few seasons. It came back from
1999-2005. During it's second run on the air, each season contained 7
ZOOMers, or kids. These ZOOMers would do skits, science experiments,
play games, make recipes, tell jokes and brain teasers (called
Zingers), and just have a blast. You could tell the cast got along
amazingly well and tell how much fun they had making the show just by
watching it. A great thing to watch is "The Making of ZOOM" which can
be watched on this link click here.
Just make sure you watch the parts in order, part 5 is in the middle,
so remember to skip over it and go back to it last. This is a great
series of videos to get to know what it was like to be on the show,
they got bloopers, behind the scenes, everything, it's awesome. Most
of the videos you will find online come from season 1 or 2, mainly 1.
Season one has the cast of Zoe (the girl with blond hair and glasses),
Keiko (the girl with black pigtails and usually in overalls), Jared
(tall, has hair that looks like a bowl but only shorter), David (small,
has a bowl cut), Alisa (curly red hair and freckles), Lynesse (the dark
skined girl), and Pablo (the other guy, speaks Spanish, silly dude).
Now to really answer your questions, Ubbi Dubbi is a language that may
seem like a complex language, but is actually very simple. It is a fun
language to speak and doesn't take too long to pick up fluently. Teach
your friends and you got your own "secret" language. All you must do
is place a "ub" in front of every vowel that makes a sound in a word.
for example the word "delegate" in Ubbi Dubbi is Dubelegubate. Some of
the larger words like excellent or birthday can be a bit much to say
all at once, but just keep practicing. Simple words like I and me are
ubi and mube. Of would be ubof. Here is a link to a video of the Ubbi
Dubbi language in action: click here.
A fun language indeed, and I encourage you all to learn it! That was
Alisa in that video speaking it, and keiko (wearing the green
undershirt and blueish jacket, you'll see her in that alot). I bet it
sounded like a bunch of jumbled words to you, but if you listen very
carefully, and slowly you can make sense of what she is saying.
"Nub-ow" is really now, and so on.
As to how I found out about the language, let's go back to how I found
out about the show itself. I was watching Arthur long ago, and it was
the episode where the show that D.W. loved so much, Mary Moo Cow got
canceled. You know how they do the "Now a word from us Kids" durring
the middle of each show, well in this episode of Arthur, they did a
"Now a word from us ZOOMers" I thought that the clip was odd and
thought nothing of it really. About a week ago now, it was on again,
and I watched the same clip, and this time it cought my attention. I
thought that looked like an interesting show, so I looked it up, and
behold, I was missing out on an AMAZING show! The clip "Now a word
from us ZOOMers" was hosted by Caroline and Kenny from season 2 of
ZOOM. Caroline spent 4 seasons on the series of ZOOM and could have
gone on for a 5th, but did not. She is what alot of people consider
"the face of ZOOM". There is even a site dedicated to just Kenny and
Caroline. I can't find the clip of "Now a word from us ZOOMers" but if
I do, I'll find some way to get it on the net for all to see. Now I
was looking at a bunch of blooper videos of ZOOM and one of them was of
Ubbi Dubbi bloopers. I wondered what Ubbi Dubbi was, then figured that
is was a special language. It's a great fun language to learn.
I am also making a new section in my newsletter that will only show clips from ZOOM and it's to try and get my forum members to try these and enjoy the show as much as I do.
8. I saw a thread for “Signing Up for the AIO” what is AIO? I saw that there
are a couple of links with AIO attached to it, but when I click them
they just take me back to the index page.
Whew, that was some answer to the last 2 questions, well the AIO (No
clue what it stands for), is the place for people to spend the money
they make by posting on the forum, and I can choose what people can
spend it on.
9. How do you decide
which anime is Anime of the Month? Is there a poll for all users to
pick one or do you randomly pick one each month?
First I let my members pick up to 3 of their favorite series to post
for the chance to make it into the top 5 favorite animes. Then I tally
up the top 5 most submitted animes and if there is a tie, I use a
randomizing program to randomly pick one or however many I need to get
5. Those 5 anime series are then voted upon and the Winner is the new
AotM.
10. I noticed you put in a new music player at the bottom of your site, what gave you the idea to do that?
Some people on the forum suggested I get one, and for right now we have
that player, but may change to a smaller one, or one that can be played
only if each member wants to listen to it. It can be annoying going
from page to page and listening to 20 seconds of a song at a time.
11. Is all the music on the site’s player related to anime in some way?
Anime and trance go together for some reason. I like trance, and I
think most of the members don't mind that. I do offer my members to
submit their own music suggestions as well.
12. I saw that you (relatively) recently shortened how many rules you had from 26 to 12, what are some of the rules you got rid of?
Rules rules rules. We had sooooo many rules it wasn't even funny. I
had several repeat rules just said in a different wording. I got rid
of the repeats and left the rules to be "a loose set" and that the
staff can interpret them in any way necessary.
13. There
was an announcement in December that you were changing the forum name
from “All Anime” to “Operation Animation” are you still planning on
doing that?
I did do that. Then I changed it back about a day later. All
Anime is a bit of a week forum name, and now there is the talk of
moving forum providers to vBulliten or ipbfree. If we do move, I have
to start from square one and will make sure that I have a lot of people
with me when I make the new forum to help post all they can and get the
count up super high in the first week. I will change the forum name to
something new (will not say), but we have a list of names that we are
deciding on.
14. ”#animemasterz” is a new forum, right? I don’t
remember seeing it last time we had an interview. What gave you the
idea for that forum and what can people find in that section?
An IRC channel always has the # in front of the name of the
channel. #animemasterz is the chatroom that my forum uses, it is just
a place for people to come hang out and talk live with others about
anime, or even other things like sports or food, whatever it may be.
It's a relaxing place to come hang out. Currently not many people come
by, usually a max of 8 or so people at any one time, but I hope that
over time that number increases to 12, then 16, then 20, and 30, even
more! I made that forum to help spread the word about the chatroom and
encourage others to use it. Click here
to visit the java applet for our chatroom. Just type /nick
nicknamehere and start talking. Somebody is almost ALWAYS in there.
15. Your portal is kind of bland right now; do you plan on adding more to it in the future?
The portal is bland. I could care less about the portal. Nobody has
really complained about the state of the portal and I don't see much
use for it except as a main page, which I do not plan on making it that.
16. Have you had to punish anyone for breaking the rules yet? And if so, what was it that they did (if you care to share)?
Only minor things like spammy posts, but I just ask the member to
elaborate a bit more and that's the end of it, but I mostly find myself
fixing people's typos. I have had a friend's site just get completely
destroyed by the hacker CodyTZ. I do not have his IP address to ban him
from getting on my forum, but all members need to be approved by an
admin first so that should stop him from getting on even if he
registers.
17. What was the first site that you affiliated with? And what do you look for in affiliates?
The first site...free domain .co.nz which is ironic because I haven't
been able to set up that domain either. I plan on removing a few of my
affiliates because I don't really post that much on any of them. Some
I may bring over to the new forum if we make it.
18. I noticed that there was no thread specifying what people should do if
they want to affiliate with All Anime, how do you find other forums to
affiliate?
Nope I sure don't. I try to find the big forums to affiliate with,
or other anime forums. Most of affiliates right now are smaller ones
and I want to make sure I affiliate with the forum I want too.
19. What gave you the idea to add puzzles to your
forum and do you plan on adding more puzzles? I’m trying to keep myself
from stopping this interview to do the ones you have, lol.
That's exactly what I was trying to do with them. The puzzles are
there purely for fun, and I do plan of adding more and they will go in
order of difficulty. My friend's forum had them and I just decided
that it would be a fun feature to add to my forum.
20. Do you plan on holding any contests soon, and if so, what sort of prizes will you be giving out?
No, not really. I do plan of starting some AMV contests when the site
gets bigger and people are more willing to make an Anime Music Video
for a contest. Prizes will be forum cash, maybe a banner or something
of that sort.
I do want to say that if the forum does move to a new provider, that I will hold off on requesting a new interview (I will wait at least two weeks from this date) so that you can come up with questions easier. The forum will still be an anime one, but look and have new forum categories and themes and have a fresh start. This forum of All Anime may be handed down, or shut down all together. I will post new links to the new anime forum if we move. This forum All Anime came off the starting blocks with a bang, but my new one I want to go BOOM! Then ZOOM (pun intended because I like ZOOM so much, as you can probably tell by now because of the long response in this interview) to the top so if you want to help me start up my new anime forum then just PM me on my forum or on here. Thanks for reading all of this and I hope you enjoyed it!
